Days pass and the years vanish and we walk sightless among miracles. Lord, fill our eyes with seeing and our minds with knowing. Let there be moments when your Presence, like lightning, illumines the darkness in which we walk. Help us to see, wherever we gaze, that the bush burns, unconsumed. And we, clay touched by God, will reach out for holiness and exclaim in wonder, βHow filled with awe is this place and we did not know it.β Amen.
Hebrew Sabbath Prayer
(I became aware of the first line of this prayer in a book called Still Writing by Dani Shapiro and it touched me deeply. I dug around a bit online and found the rest of it. I’m thinking on it as we begin a new week and a new month.}

That is a beautiful prayer.

” … we walk sightless among miracles.” How true (and sad) that is. Thank you for sharing this beautiful prayer!
